HOUSTON, TX ...Texas is among the top states in the U.S. with the highest rate of childhood hunger; one in four children struggle with hunger and food security. Nearly 18 percent of the Texas population is considered food insecure. In order to fight the state's hunger problem and create awareness about hunger, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and Tyson Foods, Inc. joined together to donate more than 37,000 pounds of food to the Houston Food Bank.
