Annual Houston Modern Home Tour Returns!
The Modern Architecture + Design Society brings annual in-personevent back after two-year hiatus.
2020 was supposed to be a lot of things for a lot of people, including the Modern Architecture + Design Society (MA+DS), whose 10th anniversary Houston Modern Home Tour was set to take place in late March 2020. When COVID forced the world into retreat, MA+DS created a monthly virtual tour series to keep the discussion
of modern residential architecture alive. Now, after a two-year hiatus from in-person events, the Houston Modern Home Tour returns on March 19, 2022.
The 2022 Houston Modern Home Tour is presented by BEC Engineers and Consultants and aims to return to its original purpose: to give local architects, designers, and home builders the opportunity to showcase their work for a day directly to the community in which they work. In turn, the self-guided tour gives the community an opportunity to engage the minds behind the designs and ask questions as they explore some of Houston’s best modern homes inside and out.
Participants in the 2022 Houston Modern Home Tour include:
- Another fantastic studioMET Architects-designed modern home, engineered by BEC Engineers and Consultants, located in the Braeswood Place neighborhood
- A second, elegant modern home in Braeswood Place designed by Hollenbeck Architects A collaboration between Gary R. Chandler Architecture and Paula Fyhr Designs that combines a gorgeous outdoor space with a fully-equipped cabana and upstairs guest apartment, plus a newly redesigned great room in the main home (in River Oaks)
- And finally, TWO (2) awesome modern homes in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest neighborhood designed by first-time participant Echo Custom Homes
The 2022 Houston Modern Home Tour is presented by BEC Engineers and Consultants. Participating homes will open their doors for viewing from 10AM – 4PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
