Free Admission and Extended Hours on Juneteenth at Holocaust Museum Houston

Experience The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection for Free

Houston Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) will celebrate Juneteenth with free admission, courtesy of H-E-B, Wednesday, June 19. Located at 5401 Caroline Street, HMH hours will be extended for one day only from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors can experience The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection and the Museum’s permanent galleries at no charge.

On view through June 23, 2024, in HMH’s Josef and Edith Mincberg Gallery, The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection, presented by Shell USA, celebrates the achievements and contributions of Black Americans from 1595 to present day. Considered one of the most comprehensive surveys of African American history and culture outside the Smithsonian Institution, the exhibition of the same name features more than 100 of the shared treasures amassed by Shirley and Bernard Kinsey during their five decades of marriage. The collection includes masterful paintings and sculpture, photographs, rare books, letters, manuscripts and more that offer a well-rounded look at the African American experience and provide new perspectives on the nation’s history and culture.

Free admission at HMH on Juneteenth is presented by H-E-B. Visit hmh.org/tickets to reserve free tickets.
