Houston Symphony presents Showstoppers! Celebrating Iconic Women of Broadway
What happens when you bring a full symphony, Broadway’s most iconic anthems, and one of the most powerful voices of our time together at Jones Hall? You get Showstoppers! Celebrating Iconic Women of Broadway — an unforgettable, three-night event that spotlights the brilliance and resilience of the women who shaped the stage.
From April 4–6, the Houston Symphony welcomes back Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez (In the Heights, Hamilton, Wicked) to perform powerhouse numbers from the roles that made her a legend. Think “Defying Gravity” with a live orchestra. You’ll get chills, goosebumps, and one show-stopping performance after another.
This concert, led by Principal POPS Conductor Steven Reineke, celebrates the voices that defined generations — and even includes a sneak peek from Mandy’s current role in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway. Saturday’s concert wraps with a free Encore After Party open to all ticketholders.
