The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary successfully hosted its 21st Anniversary fundraiser, “Fashion in the Fast Lane,” celebrating fashion, philanthropy, and community spirit. The shopping and luncheon event took place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the River Oaks Country Club, beginning at 9:30 AM. The sold-out event, led by Event Chair Ann Ayre, raised over $1.1 million, surpassing expectations, with all net proceeds of the event used to generate a lasting impact directly in the Houston community.

The theme, “Fashion in the Fast Lane,” embodied both elegance and unity, representing women coming together to make a difference. Fashion was celebrated in both beauty and function, with a special focus on the intersection of timeless style and speed. The event honored classic fashion, while recognizing the ever-evolving trends in clothing and automobiles.

This year, the Women’s Auxiliary proudly honored Hannah McNair, Vice President of the Houston Texans Foundation. Through the foundation’s efforts, the Texans use the power of football to strengthen the community, support youth development, and increase access to resources. The Texans Foundation also introduced the Girls Flag Football Program, which started in 2023 and expanded access for girls in Houston to participate in the sport. Hannah’s commitment to philanthropy is deeply rooted in her family’s legacy. The McNair family has long supported the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, and Hannah’s mother-in-law, Janice McNair, served as the 2014 ROS Honoree.

Following the luncheon, the Chic Boutique Showroom opened its doors for a four-day fashion sale. The showroom, opens only once a year, featured a curated selection of “pre-loved” and new designer items, offering shoppers a rare opportunity to discover treasures from top designers like Valentino, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Loewe, Zimmerman, Tory Burch, Rebecca Taylor, Staud, Cinq A Sept, Alice and Olivia, and more.
