The 21st Annual Mint Julep launched at the White Oak Music Hall on July 16, 2023, transporting the audience on a space-themed journey of galactic glamor, raising more than $175,000 for support of Legacy Community Health’s HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and treatment programs.
Eighteen awe-inspiring performers took the stage with a playlist of stellar songs backed by giant video screens that transported the audience to the far reaches of the cosmos. The Events Company framed the scene with a captivating space shuttle and planet decorations, creating an out-of-this-world experience. Tony Bravo, Cyndy Garza Roberts, and Ray Purser co-chaired the mission, and Linda Cantu, JD Doyle, and Kimberly Anne O’Neil were recognized as celestial community heroes.
Infusing a galactic spark into the afternoon’s festivities, the performers were rewarded with “Julep bucks,” fueling an atmosphere of cosmic camaraderie and fostering interstellar interaction among the attendees. Kaye Sedilla electrified the crowd with her phenomenal Tina Turner tribute, leaving the audience in awe. Barry Mii Dandy captivated everyone with a dazzling star-studded ensemble that mesmerized like a constellation come to life. Angela Mercy‘s captivating performance showed the audience the true meaning of levitating. Over 40 dedicated volunteer crew members devoted their time and energy to ensure the seamless execution of the event.
